If a client books a private aircraft, the aircraft will potentially need to fly back to the operator base or fly to another destination to pick up another client. Therefore, this connecting flight, sometimes referred to as a ‘ferry’, is the empty leg of a one-way private chartered flight.

Empty-leg flights are solely for specific aircraft, destinations, departure dates and times. Clients can take advantage of these empty-leg flights to reduce their carbon footprint sustainably.

For many clients who wish to embark on time-insensitive journeys and/or reduce their carbon footprint thereby improving their Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) measures, empty leg flights is a cost effective solution.

The cost of such flights can be substantially cheaper than a regular private charter fare on both fixed wings and rotary wing aircrafts. As long as the customer is flexible with their flight arrangements and time, we are able to meet their needs.

• Each empty-leg flight (for both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft) comes with exact departure airports, destinations, dates, and times of departure. For this reason, empty-leg flights might not be suitable for passengers who are on a fixed schedule.
• Aircraft on our Empty Leg Program will fly in from another destination before you board, therefore the exact departure time will depend on when the aircraft lands, and is prepared for departure. Since the exact timing of your empty-leg flight always depend on the original passenger’s flight requirements, aircraft availability and departure details might not be available until just before you are due to depart. For example, if the original flight is canceled, then your empty-leg flight will no longer be available. In this case, passengers need to make alternative travel arrangements at the last minute. We’ll be glad to arrange an alternative flight for our customers.
• Empty Leg flights are usually single-leg journeys. It may be possible to book two single, separate empty-leg flights if these are available.
• We believe in going where you are treated best. We are here to help you find suitable options that work for our users, which may include:
  •  combining empty leg flights with standard charter flights
  • an option to re-route the empty leg flight plan to a nearby airport to pick up passengers en route to your final destination.

Very Important Personnel (VIP) – a person who is accorded special privileges due to his/her status, rank, influence spending power, or importance.

Very Very Important Personnel (VVIP) – a person in the VIP circle with even higher status, rank, influence spending power, or importance amongst his/her VIP contemporary.

High Network Individual (HNI) – a person whose investible wealth (liquid assets, e.g. savings, stocks, bonds, etc.) exceeds a given amount, usually USD 1 million (or its equivalent in other national currencies).

Certificate of Airworthiness  (CofA) – a formal document issued by a national aviation authority of a country that grants authorization (i.e. airworthiness) to an aircraft to be operated over a defined airspace.

NOTE:

•    Aerocopt shall only allow aircraft with ‘valid until’ CofA to be operated on the platform. The system shall record the ‘valid until’ date on the CofA and then auto-send the aircraft operator a message to alert the operator to upload an updated CofA for an aircraft when the current one is about to expire.
•   The aircraft’s advert/ visibility on Aerocopt’s platform shall auto-disable if the aircraft operator fails to upload a valid CofA by the ‘valid until’ date stated on the current CofA

Certificate of Insurance  (CofI)  – a formal document showing that an aircraft has been fully insured by a third-party policy provider against a set of indemnifiable event(s) during a specified period for which the aircraft is covered by the insurance policy in a certain jurisdiction of operation.

Rotary Wing Aircrafts

A rotary wing aircrafts use lift generated by wings, called rotor blades, that revolve around a mast. Several rotor blades mounted on a single mast are referred to as a rotor, which support the aircraft in flight by the reactions of the air on one or more rotors.

Depending on availability, rotary wing aircrafts that can accommodate several passengers can be provided.

Fixed Wing Aircraft

A fixed wing aircrafts use wings that generate lift caused by the aircraft’s forward airspeed and the shape of the wings.

Departure & destination – fixed wing aircrafts

All fixed wing aircrafts shall operate from designated public and private landing facilities and/or airports at departure and destination city.

Departure & destination – rotary wing aircrafts

User shall provide detailed location of pick-up and drop-off station/location at departure and destination city for their intended flight. An example of the information required will include:

•    Helipad landing location on roof top,
•     Street address
•    GPS coordinates, and
•    Any other special access required for landing, etc.

On a general note, private aircraft charter are more expensive than flying commercially. However, when the extra costs associated with flying with a commercial airline, i.e. airport parking fees, hotel accommodation, cost of time wasted, etc., are considered, the cost of flying on a chartered aircraft becomes sensible and appealing.

Private aircraft charter saves our customers valuable time by helping them to arrive closer to their ultimate destination eliminating the need for overnight stays and check-in and lengthy security checks associated with flying with commercial airlines.

You can book your chartered aircraft with a minimum of six hours’ notice. It is better to make a booking request as soon as possible as all bookings are subject to aircraft and crew availability, especially during peak travel times of the year, e.g. during national holidays and special events.

We do not set restrictions on catering needs, either for dietary or religious reason.  Your catering needs are provided as part of the service offering with the aircraft provider.

A round-trip includes the trips that begin and end at the same airport in line with agreement with the service provider and within the constraints of a crew’s duty time.

Yes, you can travel with your pet(s) in the cabin, as long as all the appropriate and valid documentation for each pet is provided.

Different countries have different regulations for pet travels. We encourage you to double check that all necessary documentation for each pet is valid before day of your flight. We advise all pet owners to refer to the appropriate national government’s website (for departure and destination) for up-to-date information regarding pet travels.

We recommend that you arrive 20 – 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights, and 30 – 45 minutes for international flights.

You will receive a complete flight itinerary, including directions to your dedicated boarding facility / airport (for fixed wing aircrafts) or departure point (for rotary wing aircrafts), arrival times and crew details.
